I. Our approach: Vibez Infinity Flow

Governance (noun): the act or process of governing or overseeing the control and direction of something (such as a country or an organization)

Governance, or DAO Design generally, is understood and realized in many different ways throughout the DAO space. There has been a recent shift, with many DAO operators and contributors realizing the need for more nuance in current conceptions of decentralization, autonomy and hierarchy.

Community is at the center of all that we do at Forefront. This means that our overarching aim is to nurture and enhance human flourishing and human well-being.

To this end, we have crafted an approach to DAO Design & Governance that we call “The Vibez Infinity Flow.” DAO Design & Governance that is optimized for vibez, or human flourishing, must be rooted in the reality of human being, human needs and human aspirations.

In the Vibez Infinity Flow model, we have to contend with a Polarity, or a rhythmic movement or dance between two complementary opposites, that, when harmonized, become generative. At the heart of our DAO Design/Governance is the intentional creation of avenues by which these complementary opposites are brought into relationship - so that they may be reconciled and harmonized, again and again, by the human being.

Org-Level Polarity

At the org-level, the Polarity is between:

1. Decentralized aspect of the org (that which is emergent, fluid and adaptable)
2. Centralized aspect of the org or the Long-Term Vision, or North Star (that which is deliberately designed, stable and held steady)

Individual-Level Polarity

At the individual-level, the Polarity is between:

1. Autonomy - the striving of the human being to create and move toward freedom and self-expression, and
2. Cooperation or Contextual Awareness - the striving of the human being to belong, to understand and participate in the Whole of which they are a part

Fundamentally, the org-level and individual-level Polarity are the same.

The Vibez Infinity Flow describes the greater vocation or calling of every human being and community.

• As individuals - We are each called to step out, time and again, from the communal matrix and differentiate through autonomous self-expression. So too, time and again, we are called to fall back into the communal matrix to re-integrate with it and feel at home with our fellow human beings.
